In year 2009 we celebrated the Year of Cyborg009 and also we had two big "Kamen Rider" TV shows in Japan, "Kamen Rider Decade" to celebrate the 10th anniversary since "Kamen Rider Kuga" and "Kamen Rider W (Double) " to start a new legend, as well as the "Kamen Rider Dragon Knight" in the U.S.A..
This year we will challenge more and more aggressively to spread the "Ishinomori world" around the globe.
We are so sorry not being able to update the English site timely, we will do our best!

Jan.25th 2009 was the 71st birthday of Shotaro Ishinomori, and also the birthday of "Isaac Gilmore" a scientist who led the "Cyborg009" like a father, and starting date for the latest Kamen Rider series, "Masked Rider Decade" (or "Kamen Rider Decade").
Masked Rider Decade will travel thru all nine of the world from Masked Rider Kuga(2001) to Masked Rider Kiva(2008).
The Japanese "Kamen" means mask, so we called the Kamen Rider, Masked Rider, but now that we on-air "Kamen Rider Dragon Knight" in the U.S., it looks like the hero has two names.
Shotaro Ishinomori being the Guinness World Record holder to write more than 770 titles of comic books (manga), he was also a TV planner, character designer, director, father and husband.
His works on the TV industry includes the following titles starting from 1960s.
(We are checking the English titles for these programs, some of them were not seen overseas, so it is not so easy to name it afterwards.)

The original story with "Cyborg009" starting in 1964, is that the ordinary person gets abducted and by an evil surgical operation, he or she is changed into a "weapon". The hero reminds that he or she is a human being and fights back against the evil entity who wishes to invade and control the human society. This whole plot is almost identical to the original Kamen Rider (Masked Rider) series.
We all miss the great old man, but his legend lives forever.
