Fuji Television Network’s children’s drama series aired for twelve years, starting with Robot 8-chan in 1981 and ending in 1993 with What Is Said Is Done, Three Sisters, Shushutorians. These children’s dramas, where famous actors, actresses and mass media celebrities play and a surreal world exists, established a great movement which cannot be said to be only for children. These dramas were also good for adult viewers. Then TV Asahi Network rebroadcast the Robocon series after a gap of 25 years. Supporting characters such as Mr. Gantsu appear, albeit with changes. After broadcasting Robocon, Masked Rider Kuuga was shown, kicking off the Heisei Era Masked Rider series. After Robocon, no children’s drama based on Ishinomori’s works has been produced, except for live-action hero dramas.
