This page inclines heavily towards the genre known as children’s drama. The section brings together works which exclude Masked Rider and series — the so-called "transforming heroes". Ishinomori’s children’s dramas started with! The Witch Teacher.Lots of changes were made to the original manga,Thousand Eyes Teacher Sennome, including the appearance of a heroin Andro-Masked, who was able to transform into different figures, as an idea for televising the drama, because of the transformation hero boom at that time.
Robocon (1974) is a comedy drama featuring a robot called Robocon, a dunce at a robot school which is aiming to raise Grade A robots that are useful for people. A phrase that Robocon’s teacher, Mr. Gantsu, says while he is marking Robocon’s tests, “Robocon, zero”, became very popular among primary school pupils. This drama was a great hit, lasting for two years. Many live-action dramas were produced in the 70s because of the transformation hero boom created by Masked Rider. Many high-quality children’s dramas were also produced; for example, Red Bikies,a story about a boys baseball team, and Moeroz!Attack!A sports drama. The diversity of the productions of this year show that Ishinomori’s versatile talents were not limited to hero stories.
